Canberra driver issued summons after deaths of two cyclists — ABC News Australia
In Australia, a 40-year-old driver has been issued a court summons in connection with a crash in northern Canberra that killed two cyclists. The woman is due to appear before the Australian Capital Territory Magistrates Court on October 20.
Circumstances of the crash
According to ABC News, the crash occurred early on August 27 on Gungahlin Drive in the suburb of Palmerston. Police said that a sedan driven by the woman collided with five cyclists who were travelling in the left lane of the road.
Thirty-two-year-old Bridgie Lee died at the scene. Thirty-nine-year-old Ryan Rietmuller died in hospital several days after the crash.

Planned charges
The Australian Capital Territory Police Major Collision Team examined the circumstances of the fatal collision and issued the driver with a court summons. She is to face two charges of culpable driving causing death and one charge of negligent driving causing actual bodily harm.
Last week, hundreds of people took part in a memorial bike ride in honour of Lee and Rietmuller. Both were members of the Australian Capital Territory triathlon community.
