First Finnish F-35s expected in Rovaniemi — YLE News
The first F-35 fighter jets for Finland are expected to arrive on Friday, September 18, at the Lapland Air Wing in Rovaniemi. According to YLE News, two sources in the Finnish Defence Forces reported the aircraft's planned arrival.
Flight from Texas via the Azores
The fighter jets departed from the US state of Texas earlier this week and landed in the Portuguese Azores. According to the Flightradar24 service, if plans do not change, the aircraft may arrive in Finland after 17:00.
Rovaniemi is home to the Finnish Air Force's first F-35 base. The ferry flight is being conducted by US fighter pilots. At the same time, the destination and flight schedule may change, including due to weather conditions.
