Four suspects in forest arson cases were arrested in Croatia
Croatian police have detained four people suspected of deliberately starting at least ten forest fires in the Zadar area.
Among those detained are a 27-year-old Polish woman and three Croatian citizens. According to investigators, the Polish woman may have been actively involved in the group’s activities.
During searches, law enforcement officers discovered a pistol, a shotgun, and materials used for arson. Investigators are examining the suspects’ possible involvement in other fires and determining their motive.
The prosecutor’s office plans to file formal charges against the detainees in the near future.

At least one person died, and about 40 others were injured as a result of a massive fire on Croatia’s Adriatic coast. The fire broke out on Thursday evening near the village of Lokva-Rogoznica and quickly spread toward the tourist town of Omis, located about 6 km away.
A massive fire near the Croatian town of Omis, about 25 kilometers southeast of Split, forced about 1,200 local residents and tourists to evacuate overnight from Thursday to Friday. Strong winds drove the flames toward the coastal town.
