A second suspect in the Nord Stream case has been arrested in Croatia
In Pula, Croatia, police detained a Ukrainian citizen under a European arrest warrant in connection with the 2022 explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipelines. German prosecutors announced this on Wednesday, according to Deutsche Welle.
According to the German prosecutor’s office, Croatian police acted on the basis of a European arrest warrant. The man is suspected of causing explosions and destroying buildings.

The explosions occurred in 2022, after which the Nord Stream gas pipelines were put out of service. The arrest in Pula is linked to the investigation into these explosions, German prosecutors said.
Prosecutors identified the detainee as the second suspect arrested in connection with the explosions case. Last year, another suspect in this case was arrested in Italy; he is also a Ukrainian citizen.
