An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 struck the Chinese province of Qinghai
On August 19 at 5:36 a.m., an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 struck Dachaidani in the Haibei Mongol-Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai Province, China. This was reported by ECNS, citing the Qinghai Provincial Earthquake Administration.
The tremors were strongly felt in the Dachaidani area. Following the earthquake, the provincial agency dispatched two vehicles and eight staff members to carry out emergency response operations.

At 5:59 a.m., an aftershock with a magnitude of 3.4 was recorded in Dachaiduan. Its epicenter was located at a depth of 10 kilometers.
According to the China Earthquake Networks Center, there is one village within five kilometers of the epicenter. There are no administrative centers of settlements within a 20-kilometer radius. The town of Dachaidan is among the settlements located within 50 kilometers of the epicenter.
