In Latvia, 60 companies were presented with EU programmes for entering new markets — LSM English
On September 30, Latvia held an information seminar for representatives of local companies and institutions on opportunities to enter markets outside the European Union. The event was organized by Latvia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the European Commission and the Latvian IT Cluster, LSM English reports.
Tools for international projects
Representatives of around 60 companies and institutions were informed about Latvian and EU support mechanisms. They can help businesses find partners, reduce investment risks and join international projects.
The European Commission presented the opportunities offered by the Global Gateway and EU Tech Business Offer initiatives. Participants were also introduced to the Team National Latvia approach. Representatives of the financial institution ALTUM and the Central Finance and Contracting Agency provided information about available support programmes.

Experience of working in third countries
The Latvian IT Cluster presented the experience of its members in entering third-country markets and outlined the sector’s immediate plans and priority regions.
Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže stated that Latvian companies already operate in Ukraine and Moldova and contribute to these countries’ European integration efforts. According to her, businesses are also showing growing interest in opportunities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Global Gateway is an EU investment strategy aimed at developing sustainable and reliable connections in partner countries. Its areas include digitalization, climate and energy, transport, healthcare, education and research. The EU Tech Business Offer is intended to help European technology companies offer secure digital solutions, including in artificial intelligence, software, digital public infrastructure and cybersecurity.
