Dance teacher detained in Latvia on suspicion of sexually exploiting minors
In the city of Dobele, Latvia, the State Police detained a dance teacher on suspicion of sexually exploiting minors. The man was remanded in custody as a preventive measure, LSM English reports, citing the police.
Case circumstances
According to the Latvian State Police, on September 5, law enforcement officers received information that a dance teacher named Arturs, born in 1996, had sent pornographic images to several children via their mobile phones. The man’s surname has not been disclosed.
Police opened criminal proceedings under an article on the sexual exploitation of minors, carried out investigative actions and detained the suspect on September 7. He was remanded in custody as a preventive measure.

Police appeal
Law enforcement officers urged the parents of children who attended dance classes with this teacher and may have been affected to contact the police. People with information about possible sexual offenses related to the instructor’s distribution of pornographic materials are also asked to provide it.
