Malindi Beach in Limassol, Cyprus, to be cleaned up — Cyprus Mail
The Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association (CYMEPA) will hold a clean-up at Malindi Beach in Limassol, Cyprus, on September 24, 2026. The event will begin at 10:00 and will take place as part of activities for World Maritime Day and the European Maritime Day – EMD in My Country initiative.
Participation of the maritime community
The event will be held under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Shipping Marina Hadjimanolis. Organizations and stakeholders working in shipping, business and marine environmental protection are expected to join the clean-up. According to Cyprus Mail, the initiative is intended to remind people that protecting the coast and the sea is a shared responsibility of society, the shipping community and organized bodies.
The announced participants include the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, the Cyprus Union of Shipowners, the Limassol Chamber of Commerce and Industry, WISTA Cyprus, YoungShip, CMMI, The Propeller Club, Master Mariners Association, The Nautical Institute and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.

Volunteer support
Limassol Marina, DP World Limassol, Eurogate, Ancoria Insurance and AKTI will also take part in the clean-up as part of the #potavristou initiative. The event will be sponsored by the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, which will provide volunteers with T-shirts, caps, gloves and waste collection bags.
CYMEPA continues to promote the protection of the marine and coastal environment through environmental awareness, education and active public participation.
