Ministries have been allocated in Lithuania's new coalition

Negotiations are underway in Lithuania to form a new government coalition following the expulsion of the far-right party “Zorya Neman” from the coalition. Its place is to be taken by the “For Lithuania” Democratic Union.

According to Mindaugas Sinkevičius, leader of the Lithuanian Social Democratic Party, the new partners have been offered the chance to head three ministries—energy, health, and agriculture.

According to him, the initial discussion involved two portfolios, while the Democrats had sought four. Ultimately, the parties reached a compromise on three ministries.

The names of the future ministers have not yet been disclosed. At the same time, personnel changes are not ruled out even in departments that will remain under the control of the Social Democrats.

The signing of the new coalition agreement is expected on June 18.

Prior to this, hundreds of educational institutions in Slovenia received anonymous messages about alleged bomb threats. The letters were sent under the pseudonym Bojevnik and were received by 229 schools and kindergartens in Ljubljana and other cities.
