Lebanon has reported more than 2,000 deaths as a result of Israeli strikes

Lebanon has reported that at least 2,089 people have been killed as a result of Israeli strikes.

This was reported by Sky News.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, at least 6,762 others have been injured.

Hostilities have been ongoing since March 2, following rocket attacks on northern Israel by the Hezbollah group.

In response, Israel launched a large-scale military operation, including airstrikes and a ground invasion, particularly in the area around the capital, Beirut.

There are also reports of over a million displaced people in southern Lebanon.

Israel claims its actions are directed against Hezbollah, but the operation has drawn international criticism.

The escalation of hostilities comes amid preparations for potential talks between Israel and Lebanon in Washington.

In Baghdad, drones also attacked an area near the U.S. Embassy and the international airport, where American personnel were present. According to official reports, no one was injured, but the incident drew a sharp reaction from Washington.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that it will become clear within the next 24 hours whether agreements have been reached with Iran. At the same time, the United States is preparing for another scenario—a possible resumption of strikes. The final outcome of the negotiations is expected very soon.

Callas stated that security in the Strait of Hormuz must be a shared responsibility.
