Lebanon reports nearly 800 children killed during the wars of 2024 and 2026
In Lebanon, nearly 800 children were killed and about 360,000 were forced to leave their homes during the Israeli wars of 2024 and 2026, said Inaya Ezzeddine, head of the Lebanese Parliament’s Committee on Women and Children’s Affairs. This was reported by Anadolu Agency.
According to the lawmaker, of the approximately 1.2 million people forced to leave their homes, about 360,000 were children. Some of them were displaced repeatedly because the areas where they sought shelter were attacked. Ezzeddine also said that many children sustained severe injuries, underwent multiple surgeries, and some lost limbs or eyes.
She noted that the consequences for children are not limited to physical injuries. According to her, hundreds of thousands of children will need long-term psychological, emotional and social support due to loss, chronic fear and the absence of a sense of security.
Strikes in the Nabatieh area
Over the past day, according to the agency, two children were killed and four others were injured in an airstrike on a house in the town of Kfar Rumman in the southern Nabatieh district. Another three children were injured in strikes on the town of Arabsalim and the city of Nabatieh.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun called the attacks a dangerous escalation which, he said, goes beyond repeated violations of the ceasefire arrangement and the framework agreement. He placed responsibility for the continued escalation on Israel and called on the United States and the international community to urgently stop the violations and hold those responsible accountable.
The strikes took place despite a framework agreement signed on June 26 through U.S. mediation. It provides for the gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanese territory in exchange for the deployment of the Lebanese army.
Health Ministry data and UNICEF warning
According to the latest detailed data from Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, since March 2, 259 children were among the 4,362 people killed in Israeli attacks. Another 1,050 children were among the 12,378 injured during this period.
In May, UNICEF said that children in Lebanon continue to pay the highest price due to ongoing violence, displacement and psychological trauma, despite the ceasefire announced on April 17. The organization called on all parties to protect children, comply with international humanitarian law and ensure adherence to the ceasefire.
