Two people killed in Minneapolis shooting; suspected shooter dead
Two people were killed in a shooting at a high-rise residential building in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The suspected shooter also died. Several other people were injured, including three police officers, police said.
Police response
Law enforcement officers arrived at the call at 4:36 p.m. local time. According to Sergeant Garrett Parten, after entering the building, officers found victims and followed the sound of gunfire to an upper floor. Visibility there was significantly limited by haze.
As Anadolu Agency reports, three police officers were among the injured, two of whom sustained gunshot wounds. One officer suffered a leg injury that was preliminarily assessed as non-life-threatening. Another was in surgery, while a third was being examined for an injury that was also likely not life-threatening.

Deaths and investigation
Four people with apparent gunshot wounds were taken to the nearest medical facility; one of them died. Another person died at the scene. Police confirmed the death of the suspected shooter, but the cause of death remained unknown at that time. According to Parten, preliminary information may change.
FBI personnel and special agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also arrived at the scene. Authorities urged residents to avoid the area. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said state representatives were assisting law enforcement at the scene. No possible motive for the shooting has been reported so far.
