Debris from a combat drone was found in Moldova following an explosion
An explosion occurred in the Ștefan Voda district of Moldova on the afternoon of August 9, after which fragments of what is believed to be a combat drone were found at the scene.
This was reported by Moldovan police. Law enforcement received a report of the incident around 1:20 p.m. After the explosion, dry vegetation caught fire at the scene.
According to preliminary data, the fragments found may belong to a combat drone. Specialists from the police’s Explosives and Technical Forensics Unit arrived at the scene.
No one was injured as a result of the explosion.

As a reminder, in the Cahul district of Moldova, outside the village of Velen, police discovered numerous fragments of an unmanned aerial vehicle. Based on an examination of the materials, markings, and design features, experts identified the debris as a Russian copy of the Shahed-type strike drone “Geran-2.”
The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned its citizens about heightened checks, interrogations lasting several hours, and instances of coercion to sign contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense when attempting to enter Russian territory.
