The former manager of the terminal that handled Prigozhin's plane was found dead in Moscow

Alexei Korshenko, the former director of the business aviation terminal at Sheremetyevo Airport, was found dead in Moscow. It was through this very terminal that the plane of Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of the Wagner Group, passed before its final flight in August 2023.

According to Russian media reports, 57-year-old Korshenko was found hanged on June 6 on the balcony of his apartment. Investigators are preliminarily treating the case as a possible suicide. Colleagues claim that he was unexpectedly fired a few weeks before his death.

The Telegram channel “VChK-OGPU,” without providing any evidence, claims that Korshenko may have known details about the maintenance of Prigozhin’s plane prior to its last flight. In particular, the channel puts forward an unconfirmed theory about possible tampering during the replacement of one of the aircraft’s components.

As a reminder, Prigozhin’s business jet crashed on August 23, 2023, in the Tver Region of the Russian Federation. Everyone on board was killed. Officially, the cause of the crash in Russia was cited as a hand grenade explosion; however, Western media and sources in intelligence agencies have repeatedly suggested that representatives of the Russian leadership may have been behind the death of the Wagner Group leader. These theories have not been officially confirmed.

The Moscow Times reports this, citing Russian media.
