Police in Nigeria search for two suspects in armed robbery
Police in Delta State in southern Nigeria have intensified the search for two suspects in an armed attack on a 48-year-old resident of the Ekpan community in the Uvwie Local Government Area. As Premium Times Nigeria reports, police believe the wanted men are among those terrorizing the local community.
Attack at the house
According to state police spokesperson Bright Edafe, the attack occurred on Friday at around 5:30 p.m. Two masked suspects broke into the victim's house near Charlisco on the NPA Expressway. One of them was armed with a locally made firearm.
According to police, the homeowner struggled with the suspect holding the weapon and broke it. The other suspect then struck the victim on the forehead. Both fled, leaving the damaged locally made firearm at the scene.

Police action
The incident was reported to the Ekpan police division the same day. Its head dispatched operatives to the scene, where they found the damaged weapon. The victim was referred to a hospital for treatment.
State Commissioner of Police Samuel Erale praised the victim's actions and assured that law enforcement officers would track down and arrest the fugitives. He also urged residents to provide police with information that could help prevent crime in the state.
