Usman Kallamu wins House of Representatives by-election in Nigeria — Premium Times Nigeria
All Progressives Congress candidate Usman Kallamu won the House of Representatives by-election in the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye federal constituency in Gombe State, Nigeria, Premium Times Nigeria reports.
Voting results
Kallamu received 41,121 votes. The Labour Party representative received 3,553 votes, while candidates from the All Progressives Movement and the New Nigeria Peoples Party received 872 and 707 votes respectively.
The results were announced on Sunday by Umar Gurama of the Federal University Kashere, who represented Nigeria's Independent National Electoral Commission in the election. The announcement was made at the vote collation centre in Malam-Sidi, Kwami Local Government Area.

Election details
Voters cast a total of 47,301 votes. Of these, 46,551 ballots were declared valid, while another 750 ballots were rejected.
The by-election was held following the death of the constituency's previous representative, Yaya Bauchi-Tongo. Voting took place at 903 polling stations in 31 registration areas covering the Gombe, Kwami and Funakaye local government areas.
