A suspect in a hit-and-run involving Pride participants is being sought in Germany
A manhunt is underway in Germany for a man suspected of driving a car into a crowd during one of Europe’s largest LGBT+ events. One person was killed and 16 others were injured in the incident in Berlin, according to “European Truth,” citing DW.
According to the newspaper Bild, the suspect is 21-year-old Abdul B., who is known to the police and was released from a juvenile detention center in May. The publication claims that the state security service has a significant amount of information about him related to religious ideology and contacts with radical Islam.

Bild also reported that law enforcement officers from a special unit conducted a nighttime operation at a house in Berlin’s Schöneberg district, but did not make any arrests. Initially, the newspaper reported that the man may have rented the white Citroën SpaceTourer used in the attack. Later, the police clarified that the vehicle was privately owned, not rented.
German law enforcement authorities have notified the authorities in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Denmark of the manhunt.
