In Germany, twin sisters were born in different months
An unusual incident occurred in the German city of Bremen—two twin girls were born not only at different times, but also in different months. Doctors described this situation as rare, since enough time had passed between the sisters’ births for the calendar date to change.
The girls, Mira and Yara, were born 26 minutes apart, but one was born on July 31, a few minutes before midnight, while the other was born in the early minutes of August 1.
“This is a very rare and beautiful phenomenon,” Tagebiatt quotes Michaela Püttmann, one of the hospital’s leading midwives, as saying.
The babies were born healthy and were doing well; the family was discharged from the hospital and has already returned home.
This was reported by a number of publications, including DW and Tagebiatt.
