Calls are being made in Germany to revive the nuclear power industry
Jens Spahn, the leader of the Christian Democratic Union and Christian Social Union faction in the Bundestag, has called for a return to the discussion on nuclear energy.
He also proposed considering the possibility of restarting previously shut-down nuclear power plants.

Spahn stated that reusing decommissioned reactors could be economically beneficial for Germany.
He noted that other countries are spending tens of billions of euros on building new nuclear power plants, while Germany could restart its plants for significantly less money.

According to Spahn, the estimated cost of restarting the shut-down reactors could be around 10 billion euros.
