Talks between Lavrov and Rubio have begun in New York

The talks between the officials are taking place behind closed doors and began without opening remarks to the press. One of the key topics of the international meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly is Ukraine, as Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also confirmed the day before.

Earlier, Donald Trump stated that Russian dictator Putin is ready to meet to discuss ending the war in Ukraine. According to the U.S. president, both sides want this.
