Nearly 2,700 workers in the hotel and restaurant industry are on strike in Norway

A large-scale strike by workers in the hotel and restaurant industry has begun in Norway, with around 2,700 people taking part.

This is reported by NRK.

According to trade unions, 2,668 workers from various cities across the country are participating in the strike. The protests have spread to dozens of hotels and restaurants.

In particular, the strike has already affected establishments in Oslo and Bergen, including the capital’s leading hotels. Workers in Trondheim and Tromsø later joined the protests.

The strikers’ main demands are higher wages and faster payment of sick leave benefits.

The strike is expected to significantly impact the country’s hotel and restaurant sector.

Employees of the German airline Lufthansa will continue their strike on Thursday and Friday, leading to further widespread flight cancellations.

Starting Monday night, April 13, pilots from Germany’s largest airlines, including Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Eurowings, launched another wave of protests.
