Santerra Restrobar, with a menu based on Balkan and Eastern European cuisine, has opened in the Old Town of Paphos, Cyprus. The establishment operates in the premises previously occupied by Let Them Eat Cake and has an indoor dining room with a long bar and a courtyard. As Cyprus Mail reports, during its first week of operation the restaurant was already fairly full on a weekday evening, so the publication recommends booking tables.
Dishes from Eastern Europe
The menu features cold appetizers, salads, several varieties of borscht, as well as Hungarian goulash, pelmeni, schnitzel, stuffed cabbage rolls, chicken dishes and salmon. The article describes borscht as a tangy soup of Ukrainian origin.
Among the appetizers, the reviewer highlighted Olivier salad with ham, potatoes, carrots, peas, onions, pickles and eggs, dressed with homemade mayonnaise. It is served with traditional Lithuanian rye bread. The restaurant's chicken schnitzel is served with mushroom sauce, mashed potatoes and slices of pickles. The stuffed cabbage rolls are filled with pork and beef, slowly cooked in a rich tomato sauce and served with yogurt.
