Explosive-laden rickshaw detonates near Sra-Khawra post in Pakistan — Dawn
In Pakistan, an improvised explosive device planted in a cargo motor rickshaw exploded near the Sra-Khawra police post, about 15 miles south of Peshawar. A police officer and a civilian were injured and taken to hospital.
The explosion occurred on Frontier Road, which connects Indus Highway, also known as Kohat Road, with Khyber district. The site falls under the jurisdiction of the Mattani police station.
Details of the explosion
As Dawn reports, two people arrived at the site in a cargo motor rickshaw, parked it and set it on fire. At the same time, two motorcyclists arrived and picked up those who had left the motor rickshaw with explosives.
According to Saddar district senior police officer Fida Hussain, the blast destroyed the outer wall of the post. Vehicles parked on the post’s premises and in the garage of a neighboring house were also damaged. The area was immediately cordoned off, after which police launched a search operation.

The police bomb disposal unit said that a total of 50 kilograms of explosives were used in the attack.
Police also recalled attacks on police facilities on March 1. At that time, according to law enforcement officials, two police officers and six civilians were injured: one officer was injured after a hand grenade was thrown at the Mattani station, while another officer and six civilians were injured in an attack on the Sra-Khawra post.
Saddar division senior police officer Arshad Khan said that the attackers used modern equipment during these attacks, including infrared cameras. According to him, threat warnings were sent to all police stations, and the search for those involved will continue.
