More than 20 people injured in blast in Pakistan’s Kohat — Dawn
More than 20 people were injured in a blast in the city of Kohat, Pakistan. The explosion occurred near Old Police Lines, Dawn reports, citing the Rescue 1122 emergency service.
The injured were taken to hospitals
Rescue 1122 spokesperson Bilal Ahmed Faizi said that more than 20 victims were taken to nearby hospitals. According to him, several of the injured sustained critical injuries.
Television footage from the scene showed people near a building with a collapsed wall. They were clearing debris and helping the victims.

The rescue operation continues
According to Faizi, 14 ambulances and more than 35 Rescue 1122 staff members are working at the scene. Kohat rescue teams arrived after receiving a report of the blast and began an assistance operation.
The spokesperson noted that work at the scene is ongoing. Rescue 1122 promised to provide additional details after receiving new information.
