Soldier and two police officers wounded in Pakistan — Dawn
A Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts soldier and two police officers were wounded in the Chilas area of Pakistan’s Diamer district after a patrol vehicle came under fire. The attack took place late on Sunday evening near Sher Nallah on the Karakoram Highway, close to the Bashidas zero point.
Patrol comes under fire
As Dawn reports, a statement from the chief minister’s secretariat said that a patrol vehicle of the 116th Wing of the Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts was fired upon from the mountainside. The injured soldier and two SSU police officers were taken to the FWO hospital in Bashidas, where they received medical assistance. They were later referred to the RHQ hospital in Chilas.

Order to find the attackers
Chief Minister Amjad Hussain demanded a report on the investigation into the shooting and instructed police and other law enforcement agencies to identify and detain the attackers, organizers and accomplices using all available resources.
He also ordered security measures, surveillance and search operations to be strengthened in Bashidas, Sher Nallah and surrounding areas. The Diamer district administration was instructed to ensure the best possible medical care for the injured. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.
