Paris Blames the U.S. in Part for Europe's Record-Breaking Heat Wave — The Telegraph

The Paris City Hall has officially stated that the United States bears a direct share of the responsibility for the extreme heat wave currently sweeping across the European continent.

The French side’s sharp political statement came in response to widespread criticism from American citizens regarding the lack of adequate cooling in French homes.

The public dispute between representatives of the two countries erupted amid record-breaking temperatures in Europe.

The statement came after American tourists, expats, and social media users began mocking the French for the lack of air conditioning in many homes.

This behavior by foreigners outraged the city authorities, who attribute the current climate anomalies specifically to Washington’s global environmental policies.

Audrey Pulvar, Paris’s deputy mayor for international relations, responded sharply to the Americans’ accusations and pointed out the real causes of the European heatwave.

She stated that such criticism is completely inappropriate, since the United States remains one of the planet’s largest sources of pollution.

“As the world’s second-largest emitter of greenhouse gases, you bear significant responsibility for global warming and the consequences that we in France are currently experiencing,” the official emphasized.

The French official also drew attention to the paradox in the lifestyle habits of American society, which only exacerbate the situation on the planet.

Audrey Pulvar emphasized that about 90% of American cities make extensive use of air conditioners, which also have a negative impact on the environment.

At the end of her address, she urged Americans to lecture Europeans less and work harder to reduce their negative impact on the global climate.

“So, please, enough with the lectures. Just start doing your part. Sincerely,” she wrote.

This was reported by the British publication *The Telegraph*.
