In South Korea, the heat index could reach 35°C
South Korea is expected to experience hot weather again next week: the heat index in some areas could reach 35°C. According to the Korea Herald, the Korea Meteorological Administration attributes the intensifying heat to the influence of the North Pacific High.
On Thursday afternoon, the agency issued a heat warning for the southern regions of the country and Jeju Island. Tropical nights are also forecast in some regions.
The new heat wave is expected to be less intense than the record-breaking heat in early August. At that time, the Korean Peninsula was simultaneously affected by both the North Pacific and Tibetan high-pressure systems.

Rain is possible on Friday in the southern part of the country and in some central areas. Heavy rains are forecast for Saturday in the western coastal areas of Gyeonggi Province and neighboring regions, which may spread inland.
The Meteorological Administration is also monitoring the development of Typhoon “Saudel.” On Thursday, it was detected over the waters near Guam; it was moving northwest toward Okinawa, Japan, and is expected to rapidly intensify over warm waters. As of the time of publication, it was difficult to determine its future path and potential impact on South Korea.
