An air raid alert was issued in the northern part of the Tulcha district
In the northern part of the Romanian county of Tulcea, which borders Ukraine along the Danube River, an air raid alert was issued on the afternoon of July 23. Residents of local communities received RO-Alert notifications advising them to take shelter in a bomb shelter, a cellar, or behind two walls inside their homes.
According to “European Truth,” citing News.ro, the alert stated that the expected duration of the threat was 90 minutes.
Earlier that morning, Ukrainian sources reported the movement of Russian aerial targets toward Odesa and other settlements in the region. The Odesa region was also under attack throughout the night.
Air raid alerts and the scramble of fighter jets have become routine in Romania during Russian strikes on Ukrainian ports along the Danube. Russian drones have repeatedly crashed on Romanian territory. In late June, a local resident found the wreckage of a Russian drone in a field, which was later detonated. In late May, a “Shahed”-type drone flew as far as the border town of Galați and crashed into a high-rise building, causing significant damage.
