The ski season in the Polish Tatra Mountains is resuming thanks to heavy snowfall
At the Kasprowy Wierch ski resort in the Polish Tatra Mountains, the lift from the Horyczkowa Valley will resume operations on Saturday, March 28.
This was reported by RMF24.
This decision was made following heavy snowfalls that significantly increased the snowpack depth: at the summit, it exceeded one meter, and in the “Valley of Five Lakes,” it reached 131 cm. About 20 cm of snow has been recorded in Zakopane, creating favorable conditions for winter recreation.
Due to technical issues and a previous lack of snow, the lift operated for only a short time this season. Currently, the total length of accessible trails in the Kasprowy Wierch area is 5.5 km. According to weather forecasts, new snowfall is expected in the coming days, so quality skiing conditions may last throughout the entire Easter weekend. This makes the region one of the most attractive destinations for skiers during this current “return of winter” period.
Meanwhile, strong storm winds, rain, and snow have caused widespread disruptions to infrastructure in Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia.
