Poland has seen the fastest rise in unemployment in recent years, according to the latest statistics. Official data shows that labor market indicators point to a deterioration in employment trends, and the unemployment rate has risen more sharply than in previous periods.
As of the end of April, 934,300 unemployed people were registered at employment centers in Poland, according to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office. This is 131,600 more than 12 months ago.
The last time the number of unemployed increased by more than 130,000, as happened last year, was in March 2021.
This figure means that the unemployment rate stood at 6%, which is 0.4 percentage points higher than a year earlier.
On a monthly basis, the rate fell from 6.1% to 6%, but this is due to seasonal factors.
In April, the labor market typically improves compared to March, particularly due to rising employment in the construction sector.
Poland warnedRussia of the consequences of strikes on diplomatic missions in Kyiv.
As a reminder, the aggressor country, Russia, will continue to strike Kyiv, which the Russians traditionally refer to as retaliatory strikes.
The Russian Foreign Ministry announced its intention to carry out “systemic strikes” on Kyiv, claiming that the targets would allegedly be facilities involved in the development, production, and use of Ukrainian drones.
