There are calls in Poland to reinstate mandatory military training for men

In Poland, there is discussion about reinstating mandatory military training for adult men, which could potentially apply to Ukrainians with Polish citizenship as well. Przemysław Czarnek, a lawmaker from the Law and Justice (PiS) party, made this statement during an appearance on the “Graffiti” program on Polsat News.

According to him, the training could follow the Swiss model—six months of training spread over several years during school breaks—or take a shorter form. The MP noted that PiS would make this issue a top priority if it came to power, and also emphasized the need to prepare Polish security services for a potential escalation of the threat from Russia.

If implemented, the new measures would apply only to those Ukrainians who hold Polish citizenship. Ukrainian citizens residing in Poland under temporary protection or a residence permit are not subject to military service, as the initiative does not apply to foreigners.

In the Baltic Sea, near the beach in the village of Rusinowo, close to Jarosławiec, the Polish military discovered a drone. The drone was retrieved from the water and taken for further examination. According to preliminary assessments by the Polish military, it is of Russian origin and is a military-grade drone. Experts attempted to examine the device using an X-ray, but its casing does not allow the rays to pass through. The military is now looking for another way to examine the interior and wants to keep the drone intact.
