A suspected spy from the defense industry has been exposed in Poland
The man who was detained in Poland last week on suspicion of espionage had ties to companies in the defense sector. According to media reports, he worked at factories that manufacture components for artillery shells and rocket munitions. Polish law enforcement is currently investigating all the circumstances of the case and the possible scope of the information that was transmitted.
This information was reported by the Polish radio station RMF FM.
The individual in question is a civilian employee of one of the companies within the Mesko plant, which is part of the Polish Defense Group, and has been charged with collaborating with foreign intelligence.
The man is 65 years old and had planned to retire in July. He worked at Mesko plants located in the city of Bolechowo (Greater Poland Voivodeship).
This company specializes in precision metalworking. It manufactures components for large-caliber ammunition, as well as parts for the Piorun portable anti-aircraft missile system.
The suspect was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Internal Security Agency in cooperation with the Military Counterintelligence Service. He has been charged with acting on behalf of foreign intelligence and transmitting information that could harm the interests of the state.
