Iran has announced the suspension of talks with the U.S. amid the escalating situation in Lebanon and has set forth conditions for resuming the dialogue.
This was reported by Tasnim.
According to the agency, the Iranian negotiating team has halted dialogue and the exchange of messages through intermediaries, citing the continuation of Israeli military operations in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
Tehran stated that further negotiations will not take place until the cessation of what they claim are Israel’s “aggressive operations” and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanese territory.
Iran also emphasized that the forces of the so-called “Resistance Front” it supports are ready for further actions in response to the situation in the region.
In addition, according to Tasnim, possible steps under consideration include blocking the Strait of Hormuz and intensifying activities in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait area.
Earlier, Iran and the U.S. exchangedaccusations following new strikes.
The day before, U.S. President Donald Trump announced significant progress in negotiations with Tehran, noting that as part of a potential agreement, Iran could transfer its highly enriched uranium to the United States.
