An 18-year-old Ukrainian man suspected of an assault has been taken into custody in Poland
A court in Poland has ordered three months of pretrial detention for an 18-year-old Ukrainian man suspected of assaulting a 30-year-old woman in Wrocław. The pretrial detention order was issued on Tuesday, August 4.
This was reported by “European Truth” with reference to RMF24. According to Mateusz Kuchynski, a prosecutor with the Wrocław District Prosecutor’s Office, the court agreed with the prosecution’s position regarding the need to take the suspect into custody.

The prosecutor stated that the court took into account the risk of the young man, who has no permanent residence, fleeing, as well as the severe punishment prescribed for the crime of which he is suspected. If found guilty, the Ukrainian man could face life imprisonment.
The suspect denies the charges. As previously reported, the attack on a Polish citizen took place in Wrocław on August 1, after which law enforcement officers detained an 18-year-old Ukrainian man. The Consulate General of Ukraine in Wrocław condemned the incident.
