A Slovak driver was detained in Poland for 59 instances of fare evasion
On April 6, the Lower Silesian Tax Administration (KAS) stopped a truck on the S3 highway near Lubin; the driver had been evading tolls for nine months.
This was reported by Auto swiat.
During the inspection, it was discovered that the vehicle, weighing over 3.5 tons, was not registered at all in the mandatory e-TOLL electronic system. During this time, the system recorded 59 violations of the rules for using toll infrastructure.
Due to the scale of the violations, the Slovak transport company was forced to pay over 88,000 zlotys as part of a future administrative fine. Under Polish law, a fine of 250 to 1,500 zlotys is imposed for each day of unpaid tolls. Monitoring of freight transport is carried out using special electronic gantries that automatically record passage through the toll road network, which is significantly more extensive for heavy-duty vehicles and buses. Currently, the truck remains under the supervision of regulatory authorities until the case is fully resolved, while Polish law enforcement is stepping up road surveillance due to threats to logistics security from the Russian Federation.
