The Russian Foreign Ministry has complained about Europe's preparations to seize Kaliningrad
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has leveled yet another round of absurd accusations against European countries.
Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko claimed that European countries, led by the United Kingdom, are allegedly working out scenarios for a naval blockade and the forcible seizure of the Kaliningrad region.
According to the Russian diplomat, the aggressive activity of the Combined Expeditionary Forces (CEF) in the Far North, the North Atlantic, and the Baltic Sea has been steadily increasing in recent years.
Moscow is convinced that the military exercises of Western allies are directed exclusively against the Russian enclave, which serves as the Kremlin’s main foothold in Europe.
Grushko also mentioned NATO’s Operation Baltic Sentinel, which was launched to protect undersea infrastructure following numerous incidents of communication cables being severed on the seabed.
The Russian Foreign Ministry representative described its true purpose as “control over international transport routes and restrictions on cargo shipments carried out in Russia’s interests.”
The Russian side traditionally attempts to portray the Alliance’s defensive measures as a provocation.
“NATO is deliberately pursuing a path of escalating confrontation in this part of Europe,” Grushko stated, ignoring the fact that it is Russia’s militarization of Kaliningrad that is forcing neighboring countries to ensure their own security.
