In Russia, a man was convicted for supporting the Ukrainian Armed Forces online

The Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg found 39-year-old Artur Sagiev guilty of “justifying terrorism online” and sentenced him to 5 years and 6 months in a general-regime penal colony.

This was reported by Russian media.

According to the investigation, the man was detained in July 2025. Russian law enforcement officials claim that in 2024, he published six posts that allegedly contained “propaganda of terrorist ideology.” An expert analysis found “signs of justifying destructive actions” in the posts.

In addition to imprisonment, the court banned Sagiev from administering websites for three years.

The man had previously been fined twice for “discrediting” the Russian Armed Forces. The basis for the fines was his comments, in which he expressed joy over malfunctions in Russian electronic warfare equipment and wished victory for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also served 15 days in detention for a positive comment under a news story about a drone attack on an oil refinery in Moscow.

In addition, the court ordered the confiscation of his iPhone 11, deeming the device a “weapon of the crime.”

Earlier, a resident of Kherson was sentenced to life imprisonment with confiscation of property for treason and violations of the laws and customs of war.

In Luhansk, the occupiers sentenced a Polish citizen for participating in battles on behalf of Ukraine.
