Saratov reports damage to civilian infrastructure after drone attack

In Saratov, Russia, civilian infrastructure was damaged as a result of a drone attack, Roman Busargin, governor of Russia’s Saratov region, an aggressor state, reported. According to him, there is preliminary information about casualties, but the Russian authorities did not specify their number or health condition. Anadolu Agency reports this.

Emergency services at work

Busargin said that the threat of an unmanned aerial vehicle attack was detected on the morning of September 8. Rescue services are working at the strike sites to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

Russia’s Defense Ministry, of the aggressor state, had earlier warned of possible threats in certain locations and placed emergency services on full alert. The Russian authorities did not release additional information about the scale of the destruction.

Statement on the origin of the attack

The governor of the Saratov region described the attack as Ukrainian. Anadolu Agency notes that the strike occurred after the end of a three-day temporary ceasefire that had been observed during the recent visit to the region by US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
