Gangnam festival in Seoul to bring together Psy and K-pop performers — Korea Herald
In Seoul, South Korea, the 15th Gangnam Festival will run from Saturday through Monday and combine a street parade, concerts by K-pop performers and a performance by Psy. District authorities expect at least 30,000 visitors during the event, Korea Herald reports.
Parade and concerts
The main street events will take place on Dosan-daero, which runs through the Cheongdam-dong and Apgujeong-dong neighborhoods. On Saturday, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., a parade will be held along a route about one kilometer long, from Cheongdam Intersection to the intersection near Dosan Park. It will open with a traditional Korean marching band and procession, followed by large character-shaped balloons and other performances.
A family concert will take place on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. featuring Nam Jin, Roo’ra, Lim Chang-jung, Hong Kyung-min and Hong Ji-yoon. Zerobaseone and KiiiKiii will perform at Sunday’s K-pop concert, while Psy will close the show. His song “Gangnam Style” drew international attention to the district.

Safety and venue change
Gangnam District Mayor Kim Hyun-ki called the K-pop concert the festival’s main event and said it is expected to draw more than 10,000 spectators. According to him, organizers issued 13,000 free tickets, which were quickly claimed.
This year, the festival is being held on Dosan-daero because its usual venue on Yeongdong-daero is unavailable due to construction of the Gangnam Intermodal Transit Center. Work on the facility is expected to be completed around 2030, after which the festival is planned to return to Yeongdong-daero. A food zone serving dishes from, among other places, the United States, Japan, South Africa, Thailand, Singapore and Morocco will also operate on Saturday and Sunday.
All lanes between Hakdong Intersection and the intersection near Dosan Park will be closed to traffic from 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 5:00 a.m. Monday.
