Intercontinental Dialogue of Political Parties launched in Seoul — Korea Herald
In Seoul, South Korea, representatives of political parties and party associations from four continents launched the Intercontinental Dialogue of Political Parties (ICDPP). The new platform is intended to support cooperation among political forces from different regions and ideological currents.
As Korea Herald reports, political figures from 19 countries took part in the first meeting. Delegations from 15 countries attended in person, while participants from China, India, Mexico and Russia joined online. The participants included party leaders and deputy leaders, parliamentarians, heads of parliamentary committees and former ministers.
Seoul Declaration
The participants unanimously approved the Seoul Declaration. The document states that no state or political party can independently cope with current challenges, and that effective solutions require collective action, international cooperation and shared responsibility.

The parties declared their intention to prioritize dialogue over disputes, cooperation over confrontation and partnership over polarization. They also reaffirmed their commitment to the principles of the UN Charter, including respect for human dignity, sovereign equality, non-interference, territorial integrity, the peaceful settlement of disputes and international law.
Next meeting in Istanbul
The participants agreed on guidelines for the ICDPP's work, which are to serve as the basis for regular meetings, consultations on procedures and future programs. Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party proposed holding the forum's second meeting in Istanbul in March 2027; the proposal was welcomed in the Seoul Declaration.
The event was organized by the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), founded in 2000 and headquartered in Seoul. The organization brings together around 360 parties from 52 countries in Asia and Oceania.
