In Sydney, former butler testified at Alan Jones trial — ABC News Australia
In Sydney, Australia, David Allan, the former personal butler of radio host Alan Jones, testified at the trial over allegations of indecent assaults and sexual touching. As ABC News Australia reports, Allan worked for Jones for more than 18 years and told the court about athletes’ visits to the host’s luxury apartment in the Circular Quay area.
Testimony about the athlete complainant
Allan, 79, said that during several visits Jones greeted a prominent athlete complainant, identified in the case as complainant M, with hugs, pats on the buttocks and by calling him a champion.
When the witness was asked again about his words concerning the patting, Allan replied that this was probably inappropriate to say nowadays. He added that athletes greet one another this way. According to Allan, Jones hosted many prominent guests at the apartment, including athletes. The witness could not recall many specific names but agreed that the host may have received about half a dozen young athletes aged around 20.
