Collision between bulk carrier and Chinese vessel investigated in Singapore Strait — Channel NewsAsia
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore is investigating a collision between a Chinese fishing vessel and a Panama-flagged bulk carrier that occurred on September 17 in the Singapore Strait. After the incident, the fishing vessel began taking on water but remained afloat and stable.
Vessels and crew condition
As Channel NewsAsia reports, the collision involved the China-registered fishing vessel Lu Qing Yuan Yu and the Panamanian bulk carrier First Margaux. The fishing vessel's crew took measures to deal with the situation on board.
According to the authority, there were no injuries among the crew members of either vessel. No water pollution was recorded after the incident, and shipping traffic was not affected.

Towage to anchorage
The fishing vessel was towed to the Raffles reserve anchorage to assess its condition. Some essential crew members remained on board to ensure the towage, while the Singapore Civil Defence Force brought the other crew members ashore.
The maritime authority issued navigational warnings to keep other vessels clear of the towage operation. The fishing vessel was also escorted by an authority boat while entering port.
