In the United States, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft said that singer Ed Sheeran asked him to match a $2 million donation to help in the region. Kraft said this in a statement published on the Gillette Stadium accounts, The Hill reports.
Kraft’s statement
According to Kraft, Sheeran made a $2 million contribution and offered him to donate the same amount. Kraft also said that the singer plans to contact other concert venue owners to continue working together on building connections.
As of Wednesday evening, Sheeran had not publicly confirmed the information about the donation. Kraft also did not specify which humanitarian organizations the funds had been or were to be transferred to.

Macklemore’s call
Rapper Macklemore said that he would donate $1 million in net proceeds from The Loop tour to six organizations that directly provide aid to Palestinians. He called on Kraft to do the same.
Macklemore also said that Sheeran and his team decided to remove him from the tour after the singer’s phone conversation with Kraft. According to the publication, Finneas, Danish band Lukas Graham, Irish band Beoga, and Aaron Rowe subsequently left the tour.
Kraft noted that for decades he has supported initiatives to create opportunities for Palestinians, as well as projects that brought together young Palestinians and Israelis to develop businesses, create jobs, and build connections.
