US lawmakers propose adding Xiaomi and DeepSeek to military companies list
US legislators have urged the Pentagon to add Chinese firms Xiaomi and DeepSeek to the list of companies linked to the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). The move stems from concerns that these firms contribute to China’s military and technological advancements, posing risks to US national security.

The so-called Chinese Military Companies list does not impose immediate sanctions but could restrict American investors and customers. Besides Xiaomi and DeepSeek, the proposed additions include 19 other companies, such as robotics brand Unitree Robotics and chip manufacturer Hua Hong Semiconductor.
