A man opened fire twice in central Athens; there are injuries — Kathimerini

Two shooting incidents occurred in central Athens on the morning of April 28, leaving at least five people injured.

The first incident occurred in the Kerameikos district: an 89-year-old man burst into the Social Security Fund building with a hunting rifle and wounded one employee.

Afterward, the attacker took a taxi to the Court of Appeals, where he opened fire a second time. Four more people were injured in the shooting at the courthouse.

All of the victims were hospitalized; according to preliminary reports, their injuries are not life-threatening.

Following the incident, an emergency evacuation was ordered at the court. Police and medical personnel are on the scene, and law enforcement is investigating the attacker’s motives and the circumstances of the incident.

In Lviv, a shooting occurred in one of the apartments of a high-rise building. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene promptly. Police detained a man suspected of firing the shots. The circumstances of the incident are currently being investigated.

In Zakarpattia, police are trying to locate the parents of a ninth-grader who opened fire at a school and wounded another student. According to law enforcement, the teenager is currently refusing to speak with psychologists.
