Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina have agreed to liberalize freight transport, introducing what is known as a “transport visa-free regime.” Under the agreement, starting January 1, 2027, bilateral and transit transport between the two countries will be carried out without the need for separate permits. This is expected to simplify logistics, reduce bureaucratic procedures, and speed up trade operations between Ukraine and the countries of the Balkan region.
This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.
The relevant agreements were reached during the first meeting of the Joint Commission on International Road Transport in Sarajevo.
Prior to the launch of the "transport visa-free regime," the parties also agreed to increase the quota of permits for freight transport until the end of 2026.
The liberalization of transport will reduce the administrative burden on carriers and make international logistics more predictable and efficient.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will become the 36th country on the list of states with which Ukraine has liberalized freight transport conditions.
