Warren Buffett has postponed a donation to the Bill Gates Foundation amid an investigation into his ties to Epstein

Investor Warren Buffett has temporarily suspended his regular donations to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation pending an investigation into his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

American investor Warren Buffett does not plan to make his next annual contribution to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in the near future, according to The Wall Street Journal. According to the publication, Buffett has decided to wait for the results of the investigation into the Microsoft founder’s possible ties to financier Jeffrey Epstein before deciding on future donations.

Buffett typically made such contributions in late June or early July, but this time he has postponed the decision until at least November—until Thanksgiving in the U.S. Meanwhile, the schedule for supporting other charitable organizations funded by Buffett remains unchanged.

It is known that about 20 years ago, Buffett committed to making lifetime donations to the Gates Foundation by transferring a portion of his shares in Berkshire Hathaway. Over this period, the total value of the transferred assets amounts to approximately $48 billion, the WSJ notes.
