The government will urgently convene a meeting with business leaders following Russia's attacks on Kyiv
Following the massive Russian attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region, the government will hold an emergency meeting with business representatives. According to Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi, the Russian strikes damaged not only residential buildings but also logistics complexes, manufacturing facilities, stores, and other infrastructure that serves millions of Ukrainians every day.
The government has already instructed the Ministry of Economy to draft measures to help retail and logistics companies resume operations following the attacks.
On the night of August 5, Russia carried out another massive attack on Ukraine. According to Koretsky, the enemy launched 28 missiles and 115 drones. As of 9:38 a.m., 17 people were reported dead and 44 wounded. The strikes damaged residential buildings, stores, warehouses, and other civilian facilities.
The prime minister specifically noted that businesses, manufacturing facilities, and commercial and logistics complexes were targeted. He said this creates problems not only for the companies themselves but also for the large number of people who depend on their operations. “Russia is intensifying and expanding its terror against businesses that serve millions of people. There is no military objective behind these attacks—this is terrorism,” Koretskyi stated.
The government wants to prevent supply chains from grinding to a halt
Following the attack, the government instructed the Ministry of Economy to prepare the necessary measures to support businesses. The primary goal is to ensure that logistics companies and retail chains can continue operating even after individual facilities are damaged or destroyed.
To this end, the government plans to hold urgent meetings with business representatives. These meetings will focus on discussing the situation, the challenges companies face following the attack, and steps to ensure uninterrupted operations. “The government will urgently organize meetings with business representatives and develop the necessary measures to ensure the uninterrupted operation of logistics companies and retail enterprises in response to Russia’s missile terror,” the prime minister said.
Thus, the government plans to work with the business community to find solutions that will prevent disruptions in goods and supplies following Russian strikes on civilian infrastructure. This was reported by Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi.
As a result of a nighttime attack by Russian forces on the Kyiv region on August 5, 2026, 14 people were killed and another 27 civilians were injured. Rescue workers continue to deal with the aftermath of the strikes and extinguish fires in several districts of the region.
Over the past 24 hours, on August 4, Russian troops attacked the Zaporizhzhia region 1,052 times, striking 50 settlements in the region. Two people were injured as a result of shelling in Zaporizhzhia and the Zaporizhzhia district.
