AHMTEC 2026 for medical product manufacturers to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
From 26 to 28 October 2026, the third African Health Manufacturers Trade Exhibition and Conference, AHMTEC 2026, will be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The event will take place at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel in the city center. This was reported by MyJoyOnline.
Moving to a commercial level
The conference theme is “From Industrialisation to Commercialisation.” Participants will consider the transition of African pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing from capacity building to production capable of competing in regional and global markets.
The programme is divided into two tracks. Industrialise will focus on operating conditions for manufacturers, including policy, regulation and incentives. Commercialise will address company operations, product portfolio development strategies and market access.
Regulation, procurement and investment
Topics at AHMTEC 2026 include regulatory harmonisation and the African Medicines Agency, pooled procurement, financing and companies’ readiness to attract investment, as well as pricing and procurement policy. Discussions are also planned on the production of diagnostics and the development of active pharmaceutical ingredients.
