Construction of canopies has begun at Chisinau Airport due to the influx of passengers

Construction of canopies has begun at Chisinau Airport due to the influx of passengers

Due to a significant increase in passenger numbers during the summer season, construction has begun on new canopies near the boarding gates at Chisinau Airport. These measures were prompted by a lack of space in the terminal during the peak air travel season.

Construction work has already begun. However, judging by the plans, this is not a full-scale expansion of the terminal, but rather simple canopy structures intended to provide additional space for passengers.

It is noted that builders are already erecting makeshift shelters near the terminal on the side of the aircraft parking areas, where travelers will wait to board buses to be transported to their flights. The publication notes that the canopies are scheduled to be put into operation in the near future.

Airport management stated that the structures will be equipped with lighting and air conditioning systems to provide more comfortable waiting conditions before boarding. However, as noted, the construction plans show that the new structures are simple canopies, not full-fledged buildings.
